STATE PARTY MEETING AGENDA

The focus of this business meeting is the interim election of replacement officers
and consideration of a new bylaw amendment.

ALL NOMINATIONS FOR OFFICES MUST BE MADE AND ACCEPTED ON THE GPVA
BUSINESS LIST AT LEAST 48 HOURS BEFORE THE MEETING.

(For purposes of calculating quorum, currently active locals represented
at least one of the previous two scheduled business meetings and
having at least 3 fully-participating members are Arlington, Fairfax,
Hampton Roads, Lynchburg, and New River Valley.)

Agenda

LOCATION: Rockfish Community Center, George Washington and Jefferson
National Forest, 190 Rockfish School Ln, Afton, VA 22920. For those wishing
to attend remotely, we will be using Zoom full two-way audio and video, and
voting will take place on OpaVote.com. Participants will need access to a
computer and the internet in order to cast votes. Non-voting members may fully
participate by phone. Please email bsidneysmith@gmail.com no later than 9pm
Friday, Sep 3, 2021. The link to join will be sent to those who RSVP.

INTRODUCTION (10 min)
Choose facilitator, timekeeper, vibes watcher. (Note for our new members: Anyone
can take on any one of these roles for a business meeting. If you would like to
volunteer to take one of these roles you are free to do so, or someone may nominate
you to do so. In the event two or more people are interested in serving in the same role,
a co-chair will poll the members present regarding their preference. Facilitators should
be familiar with both consensus practice and parliamentary norms, and possessed of
both patience and self-confidence.)

**APPENDIX**

Bylaw Amendment Proposal (HRGP)TITLE: Amendment to clarify support for or endorsement
of non-Green parties and candidates, and to specify that inappropriate support or endorsement
by a GPVA local may be grounds for disaffiliation of the local.

TEXT OF PROPOSAL:

Amend 3.7 to read, "Occasionally endorse unaffiliated independent candidates."

Add “6.3.2.4. official support of the two-party duopoly or their candidates in any form, including
but not limited to: endorsement, nomination, fundraising, funding, tabling, and advertising.”

Add “6.3.2.5 official support of parties or candidates other than those of the two-party duopoly,
such as, but not limited to, endorsement, nomination, or contributions of money or labor, except
when such decisions directly benefit the Green Party, for example when cooperating in ballot access
efforts or joint lawsuits.”

Amend 11.9 to read, “The GPVA may endorse other unaffiliated independent candidates who support
the Ten Key Values and who generally endorse the GPVA State Platform, provided there is no Green
Party - endorsed or nominated candidate in the race.”
