Voting in the GPVA Presidential Primary 2020

Calling All Virginia Greens!
Green Party of Virginia - Presidential Primary

The GPVA Presidential Primary will be conducted from April 20th to 26th. All Greens presently residing in Virginia are eligible to vote in this primary. Here are the details:

1) You must be registered on the GPVA website, vagreenparty.org. (If for any reason you cannot register online, please contact your local rep or the GPVA General Secretary for assistance.)

2) After logging in to the GPVA website you can request a voter code by using the "Request a Voting Code" form under the "Contacts" menu. You may only request a code one time.

3) By Monday, April 20th, you will receive your voting code by email, together with instructions for how to cast your ballot.

4) The online ballot will include the name of every active candidate, but officially recognized candidates will be identified as such. The ballot is "ranked choice," that is, on your ballot you will rank some, none, or all of the candidates as you choose.

5) Information on all active candidates for the Green Party Presidential Nomination is available at this link

Note that you are eligible to vote in the GPVA primary if you currently or permanently reside in the state of Virginia and have registered as a Green Party of Virginia member on our website. Registration as a voter in the state of Virginia is not required, and immigration status does not affect eligibility.

The Green Party of the United States Presidential Nominating Convention is currently scheduled for July 9-12 at Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan. The GPVA is allotted five delegates, and your vote in our primary will help determine who our presidential candidate will be. Please go to vagreenparty.org now and request your voter code. The future is in our hands.
