Dear Virginia Greens,

If you would like to have input into the national platform of the Green
Party, here is how you do it. Formulate a proposal and bring it to your
local. If your local supports the proposal, forward it to Tamar and me.
We will probably return it to the local with formatting instructions.
(You can short-circuit this step by mastering the formatting
instructions yourself. These can be found on the webpage of the national
Platform Committee at the link provided in the email below.) Finally, it
will be placed on the agenda of a state business meeting for a vote. If
it passes, then it will be submitted to the GPUS.

Note that all of this has to occur before the end of the year for the
GPUS to consider the proposal.

Thanks,

Sid

The Platform Committee is now accepting amendment proposals. We will
continue to accept proposals until December 31st.
Don't wait until the last minute. There will be no extension of the
deadline. The sooner we get your proposals, the sooner we
can get them to the NC for discussion and voting and the sooner our
Platform can be updated and posted for our candidates
in next year's midterm election.

If your state party, caucus or GPUS committee is considering submitting
amendments please follow the guidelines for how to submit platform
amendment proposals at:

http://gpus.org/committees/platform/platform-submission/
<http://gpus.org/committees/platform/platform-submission/>

If you have any questions regarding the submission guidelines, please
direct them either to me or my Co-Chair, Linda Cree.
