Submission Guidelines

There are no limits, upper or lower, on article submission length, though overly long articles will be edited down. Please include the name of your affiliated local (if any), and a suggested title for your article. Opinion pieces should be described as such, and the editor reserves the right to declare any piece as such.

Preference will be given to articles which describe what WE are doing here in Virginia, though feature articles of a national scope will serve as well. However, we need EXPRESS PERMISSION from all authors, including photographers and artists. All authors retain their copyrights.

Please send submissions directly to the editor, via snail or e-mail. The editor reserves the right to reject, proof, and/or truncate if necessary all submissions. Authors retain the right to approve edits only if such consideration is specifically requested before the printing deadline.

Submission Deadlines

  • Spring (March, April, May): Noon on the 2nd Friday of February
  • Summer (June, July, August): Noon on the 2nd Friday of May
  • Autumn (September, October, November): Noon on the 2nd Friday of August
  • Winter (December, January, February): Noon on the 2nd Friday of November
